The $600,000 Virginia Derby is the featured attraction at Colonial Downs gathers together some 3-year-0ld originally pointed to the Kentucky Derby who are finding a new home on the grass. The one to beat here is Paddy O’Prado who has been installed as the 7-5 morning linemaker’s choice. He’ll be challenged by the likes of Interactif, Stately Victor, and Krypton.
Hollywood Park cards two Grade 2 races on Saturday, the feature is the $200,000 Swaps Stakes for 3-year olds where Santa Anita Derby hero Sidney’s Candy returns to action against four rivals…Earlier on the card six fillies face off in the $150,000 A Gleam for older fillies and mares.
Rounding out the action is the $200,000 American Derby at beautiful Arlington Park where Dean’s Kitten will vie with Workin’ For Hops and Asphalt for favoritism in what looks like a pretty wide open race. Longshot players would be wise to take a long look at Dream Nettie, trainer Jerry Hollendorfer always ships to win.
